| | The Auburn Fair Boosters Association was established in 1963 as a non-profit organization to assist in the promotion, publicity, and programming of the then called Auburn District Fair. It was the idea of Bunny Y. Nakagawa, Secretary-Manager of the fair, and was endorsed by the Board of Directors at their February 21, 1963 meeting. The major projects undertaken by the Fair Boosters in 1963 were the Miss Auburn Queen Pageant, the big Fair Parade, and the publishing of the Souvenir Fair Program Booklet. | |
| | Today the Auburn Fair Boosters meet on the first Monday of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the Sutter Building. Our current projects are the Photo Show, Parade, and Talent Search held during the Gold Country Fair in September. We also annually sponsor a Christmas Crafts Faire held the Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving.
If you would like to join you may download an application here. | |
| | Funds raised from the Christmas Crafts Faire are used to enhance the fair, the grounds, or to assist fair staff. Past projects include seating for the Gold Country Court, new tables for the Placer and Sierra buildings, working with the Auburn Soroptimists to install a flagpole near the Placer building, riding mower for the maintenance crew, and building the gazebo that was dedicated to Bunny Nakagawa.
